How many zombie games does the hobby need?Īll I'm saying is that I am disappointed that the developers, and if I understand your post correctly, you are not on the Gun. There is, however, no shortage of zombie themed games spanning across all genres.FPS, TBS, RTS, RPG, MMPORPG, etc. Contrary to your argument, there are not plenty of tactical games on the market these days, at least, none that actually deliver credible, believable military action. The thing that made B&C so great was that it used authentic themes, with authentic kit, weapons, units and locales to create some pretty exciting and satisfying gameplay. I fail to see how taking a game and adding zombies to it as the main antogonist is "innovating" and doing anything other than the AAA studios, which is, as you put it, "cashing in" on the latest fad. Hemmingjay.I'm trying to find the point within all yor zen, I Ching, Confuscious mumbo jumbo. I've rated it "Recommended".but only for those who are NOT expecting to play Breach & Clear. It's not a bad game by any means (remaining bugs aside). I also applaud your (slightly overzealous) defense of your team and their decisions. Also, I'd like to point out that there's a reason why those studios who " that market and in on it" are "AAA studios " case in point: Doom 4, which returns to the original formula after the public outcry when Doom 3 was released. But naming it after a specific game and then failing to deliver the same style of game play is what's causing you problems already, and only leads to disappointment for those people who loved the first game and saw this as a continuation of the series. I celebrate your desire to make something new. Sometimes it works out, like this game(try it). We can incorporate the latest innovations and trends and take big risks on wild ideas. We make indies so that we can be flexible and responsive within the game market. They excel at serving that market and cashing in on it. However, that's the realm of AAA studios. Many gamers just want their favorite experience to be recreated with a little fresh content on top of unchanged mechanics and rules.

However, they saw a place to make a special combination of the two and deliver a compelling an rich experience for those who do want something new. Yep, there are plenty of tactical games and plenty of zombie games. Originally posted by Hemmingjay:As a developer I can answer the question.to innovate. Each expenditure just adds to the stench. If you find you belong to the third group and cannot bring yourself to join the other ranks, do the next best thing and do not act. From birth to death, they leave no positive mark on the Earth. They fill the sewers with their excrement and the only service they have courage to provide is shoveling the same filth around from one place to another. They are equally as important as the creators.įinally there are the others. Then there are those exist to appreciate and support those who create, thereby giving back into the system of creation and evolution. However, some people out there will try to tear down the whole concept and developer without having even tried it or without having ever been brave enough to share their own creations with the world.Ī wise man once said there are three souls in the universe.one who creates for the joy and benefit of others. Your comment was totally fine and I understood where you were coming from. It's incredibly brave considering all of the haters out there who casually attack developers as if they aren't human beings too. Celebrate those who have the courage to create something out of nothing, putting their reputation, hopes, dreams and financial future on the line.

You don't have to like it, but if you want to enjoy more than one type of game 10 years from now, you should at least support it abstractly and for free if not publicly and with your wallet.

As a developer I can answer the question.to innovate.
